Central High School Band’s Annual Chili Supper, Cook-Off and Silent Auction is Saturday, February 26th from 6-9 pm in the school commons.
We promise you do not want to miss this event. We hope you will plan to join us for a night of food and fellowship. Enjoy homemade chili, soups and baked goods while bidding on silent auction items.
Tickets are on sale now and available through February 18th.
Tickets are $8 each or $25 for a family (4-6) people.
Silent auction items include a Patricia Nash purse, a tailgate grill with grilling utensils, a basketball autographed by Holly Warlick, a drive rachet socket set donated by Auto Zone, art by Cheerful Heart Art and much more. Several gift cards will also be up for grabs. Bliss, Chick-fil-A, Hard Knox Pizza, Firehouse Subs, Magpies Bakery, Northern Tool & Equipment and Nothing Too Fancy have all donated gift cards for the event. There will be themed baskets up for auction. A Coffee Lover’s basket and Date Night basket are just a few of the selections up for auction. Auction items are being added daily.
As in year’s past, the band will also have a special item they are working to raise funds for. This year’s Fund-A-Cause auction choice is a new PA system. The estimate cost for this system is $4,000.
In addition, local businesses and folks in the community have made sponsorship donations to the band. Harrington Insurance Agency, Tim & Diana McDonald, John & Kim Meade, Jennifer Morris/Keller Williams Realty, Charlie Pratt/Modern Woodmen of America and George & Tracie Sanger have all pledged their support.
There are tons of great items to bid on and it’s for a great cause! The kids! If you’d like to donate an item for the auction or are interested in making a cash sponsorship, please reach out to the band boosters via e-mail at chsbobcatbandboosters@gmail.com. Deadline to donate is February 1st.
Music education is a worthwhile experience for our young people. Central’s band, formed in 1927, is one of the oldest in the area and is a source of pride for the Fountain City Community. The band relies on grants, hand-me-down instruments and donations from the public to exist. Community support is vital to the program.
